Matthew Rock (Pinehurst, NC) has performed, choreographed, and presented his works in venues and theaters all along the Eastern US. Matthew’s works were selected for the 34th Annual Choreographer’s Showcase in DC, Atlas Dance Festival 2017, Wake Forest Dance Festival 2018, and NCDF 2019 and 2024. He produced his own dance festival, Weymouth in Motion in 2021 and 2022 in Southern Pines, NC. As artistic director of MARO Movement, his works provide different insights and perspectives on current societal events and human experiences through athleticism and artistry. Dancing with companies such as ArasDance, Jane Franklin Dance, and Light Switch Dance Theatre and under the instruction of various renowned dance artists, he has received a versatile education. Matthew graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BFA in dance performance and choreography. He works with NC schools, studios, and programs to offer various dance techniques, integrative movement/dance therapy, and fitness training.

Cellist Daniel Levin is “one of the instrument’s most brilliant contemporary practitioners” (The Wire). He was born in Burlington, Vermont, and began playing the cello at the age of six. In 2001, he graduated with a degree in Jazz Studies from the New England Conservatory of Music and arrived on the New York City jazz scene shortly thereafter. Since then, Daniel has developed his own distinctive voice as a cellist, improviser, and composer. Ed Hazell noted upon release of Levin’s first record as a leader, “Cellist Daniel Levin is a major new voice on his instrument and in improvised music.” Elements of European classical music, American jazz, microtonal and new music, and European free improvisation all figure prominently in his unique sound. He has performed extensively throughout the USA and Europe, and has recorded more than 25 albums as a leader or co-leader, which can be found on Clean Feed, HatOLOGY, Not Two, Trost, Riti, Mahakala, Phonogram Unit, Creative Sources, ears & eyes, and other record labels.
