In a sense / In essence is an invitation to immerse oneself in the layers of residue that connect us all: into the integrity of presence: into the invisible worlds in which we are all tethered. This interdisciplinary exhibition is an arrangement of installations which incorporate sound, flower essences, 35mm photography, poetry, and the live sculpting of an atavistic harp with longtime collaborators, Katie Addada Shlon and Ryan Martin. In addition, Chanelle has invited local and visiting contemporary sound artists to perform each weekend throughout September and October.

Chanelle Allesandre’s work with the natural world, specifically through her work with flower essences, plant medicine, and wild gardening directly overlaps with and informs her creative practice as a sound artist, writer, and photographer. In all of her work, she attempts to give voice and body to the invisible, subtle realms of feeling and vibration, which she views as the connective fibre between all living beings on the planet–the undercurrents of true connection to self, other, and the world at large: a spiritual charge.
